Safety routines
Class size
Classes have up to 14 women, and mothers and daughters up to 10 pairs.
Mothers and daughters
Every daughter trains beside her mother, and the two of them are partners. Daughters leave with their mother.
Mat rules
Clean hands, short nails, no jewelry and no shoes on the mat. You choose your partner and you can sit out any drill. Stop means stop, right away.
An instructor on the mat
Every class has an instructor on the mat who checks in with each pair before contact starts and keeps contact light.

Family policies
What women and mothers ask before a first class.
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
Watching a class
You are welcome to watch a class from the bench by the door, on your own or before you decide to join. Phones stay on silent, and we ask guests not to film.
What to wear and bring
Wear a plain t-shirt and loose pants or leggings, with your hair tied back and no jewelry. You train barefoot or in clean flat shoes. We have hand wraps and gloves to borrow for your first class.
When to stay home
If you have a fever, a stomach bug or anything that spreads, please stay home and send us a message; you don't need to give details. The same goes for daughters. Come back when you feel well.
Closures for weather and holidays
We close on major holidays and, rarely, for a storm. We tell members by text and post it on the schedule page.
Leaving the program
Membership is month to month. To stop, write to us at least 30 days ahead; the month in progress is billed as usual, and we can pause instead. The tuition page has the details.
Screens and phones
Phones stay on silent in your bag during class. Please ask before filming, and never film other students.
